Jon T Harris
Jon T. Harris spent over three decades in law enforcement, working across city, county, and federal agencies in Texas. His career included patrol operations, K9 handling, criminal investigations, and supervisory roles that gave him perspective on both street-level decision-making and departmental leadership.
After years in the field, Harris transitioned to prosecution, where he now applies his law enforcement experience to the other side of the criminal justice system. This dual perspective—understanding both the split-second decisions officers make on the street and the legal scrutiny those decisions face in court—shapes his approach to cases and his view of what effective policing requires.
Throughout his career, Harris has been a proponent of de-escalation, tactical patience, and judgment under pressure. He believes the skills that make good officers—reading situations, managing conflict, knowing when to act and when to wait—are the same skills that make better leaders, partners, and people.
Harris has been married to Katherine for over forty years. They live in Texas, where he continues his work in the legal system and remains connected to the law enforcement community that shaped his career.
